We are so proud to announce the official launch of our four-day week for all employees starting from November 2021. After a six-month trial to help us understand the effects of the shorter week, where colleagues retain consistent hours and pay, we are now officially one of the first firms in UK recruitment to implement the benefit for all current and future employees as part of our brilliant benefits package.

Our Associate Director of People, Rebecca Cook, said:

"The past 18 months has given us time to reflect on how we can become the company we want to be. Alongside our newly refreshed vision ‘to change the way the world sees recruitment, through offering our people and our customers the best possible experience,’ we are adjusting our focus to what keeps our people motivated. By encouraging a healthy work/life balance with the security of the same career opportunities."

When exploring the reality of implementing the four-day week, we reached out to everyone here to get a real understanding of how it might play out. Thanks to our brilliant 270,000+ LinkedIn Audience, we saw an overwhelming 83% in support of the decision.

Our CEO, Andy Shatwell, said “at Charlton Morris, we’re building a company that offers so much more than ‘just’ recruitment”, and that extends to our benefits package. We now officially work Monday-Thursday. After reaching out to our clients and customers, we can safely say that there’s an overwhelming feeling of support.

As a gold standard ‘Investor’s in People’ company and ‘Times Best Companies’ award winners three years running, we are proud to be true leaders in the recruitment space and are making strides to ensure this runs true in every aspect of our business.

From the launch of our ‘Principal Consultant’ programme, which offers options for colleagues to work anywhere, any time or enabling our teams to progress into management, we focus whole-heartedly on giving employees the best possible experience in prioritising career prospects and work/life balance.

Our consultants utilise content-specific websites, webinars, and podcasts with industry experts to showcase their innovative take on the market. An approach which has recently secured our marketing team award-winning status. Alongside wider business incentives, we hope this approach removes the usual ‘quick win’ perception of recruitment and allows Charlton Morris consultants to be true leaders in their field.

As a search firm specialising in three divisions, CM Medical, CM Life Science and CM Industrial, we have placed candidates in more than 60 countries on 6 continents, a number which has continued to grow, despite our shorter weeks – mind boggling, we know!

Since being founded in 2013 in Leeds we are now excited to begin expansion into Manchester and London and are always open to recruit anyone with experience remotely across the UK or further afield, promising the same perks and benefits as the rest of us up North.

Despite the undeniable hurdles of the past year, we’re thrilled to see our motto ‘searching together to find the future’ come to life, having truly listened to what works for our people and clients alike.
